The depictions of Foxite Jacobin collaboration examined thus far have primarily focused on the period of the French Revolution, when the objectives of Fox’s faction were deliberately conflated with those of popular radical societies and rational dissenters by loyalist propagandists. These depictions aimed to stir public fear, suggesting that Fox and his followers were actively colluding with the French to replicate a bloody revolution in Britain. However, the tone and content of these prints shifted after France declared war on Britain in February 1793. What had previously been theoretical threats were now depicted as imminent and violent acts of treason.
