Edward Barry Saff, born on January 2, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, to Irving and Rose (Koslow) Saff, comes from a family with a diverse set of professions and experiences. His father worked as a sales manager at a large department store. Ed’s two older brothers include Harvey Saff, a podiatrist who founded the Pompano Podiatry Group, and Donald Saff, a well-established artist, art historian, and educator who founded Graphic Studio. Ed’s maternal grandfather emigrated from the Russian Empire in 1903, fleeing anti-Jewish violence, specifically the pogroms occurring in his village of Rossava in the Kyiv region.
