This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the evaluation subject, with a focus on the Gorizia Interporto in the Sant’Andrea area. Situated within the broader logistics framework of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the terminal's strategic importance is assessed in terms of infrastructure, intermodal transport, and sustainable logistics. Five potential development alternatives are explored and evaluated for their impact on territorial cohesion, economic efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Through stakeholder analysis and multi-criteria assessment, the research examines the terminal’s role in regional and international freight networks. This theoretical evaluation lays the groundwork for the practical application detailed in Chap. 11 .
