Discharge Capacity
摘要
The discharge capacity of an overshot waterwheel is dependent on the rotational speed, the number of cells and the shape of the cells. Usually, the overshot waterwheel is operating at a fixed speed in order to obtain a simple and cost-effective hydropower plant. The speed is determined by the rigid speed of the generator. Thus, both the rotational speed and the cell shape will be considered in this chapter. If an overshot water runs at a too high rotational speed when idling, the drive system must be designed accordingly for the overspeed conditions. The equations for such calculations will be provided as well.
