With global warming, population growth and industrial development affecting Morocco, the availability of water resources is becoming a crucial issue for the country. The traditional methods of water management are becoming outdated and unable to keep up with the rapid growth in demand for water, especially as water resources continue to decrease. The Smart Water Management (SWM), based on the latest Information and Communication Technologies represents a very promising solution to the unprecedented water crisis facing Morocco. Moreover, the SWM becomes even more effective by using Artificial Intelligence, (AI) which offers a multitude of possible applications based on a rich collection of highly developed Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms. In this article, we will explore the concept of SWM in urban area, before moving on to AI and its various algorithms. Finally, we will propose our approach to preserving natural resources by using AI.
