This chapter examines the importance of digital evidence within the legal sphere. This study underscores the role of contemporary scientific techniques in the identification of criminals. Advancements in science have introduced various forms of proof that have significantly transformed the landscape, transitioning from conventional methods specified in criminal procedure law–such as confessions, witness testimonies, written documentation, and expert evaluations–to more dependable alternatives. In contemporary criminal investigations, technology is essential, not only for uncovering crimes but also for accurately and reliably linking them to the offenders. Furthermore, it plays a vital role in addressing modern criminality by adapting to technological progress. The researchers conclude with several crucial findings and recommendations. A primary conclusion reached is that modern scientific techniques in criminal proof present clear advantages over traditional forms of evidence, thereby reducing the likelihood of judicial errors. Moreover, the researchers advocate for a clearer definition of criminal evidence by the Jordanian legislator, alongside the introduction of specific laws that recognize the validity and significance of voiceprints as criminal evidence. The study employs a descriptive, analytical, and comparative methodology to explore these matters.
