The Impact of Social Media on Decision-Making: How Technological Communication Shapes Students’ Choice of Physical Education Majors
摘要
The objective of this research is to examine how technological communication platforms influence students’ perceptions regarding the selection of a physical education major, paying particular attention to the factors of gender, academic year, and area of specialization. A 20-item questionnaire was employed, which was administered to 150 male and female students majoring in physical education at various universities. Following the verification of the questionnaire's validity and reliability, data were gathered. The findings indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in social changes concerning gender and academic year. In contrast, notable statistical differences were identified in relation to the field of study (sports rehabilitation compared to physical education). In light of these findings, the researcher suggests that colleges of physical education should leverage technological communication tools to foster a sports culture, underscoring the significance of the physical education major in relation to other academic disciplines.
