Applications and Implications of Exploring Carbon-Based Nanocomposites in Sustainable Cities Development
摘要
Nanotechnology enables architects, engineers, and builders to design and develop stronger, more efficiently sustainable, and highly adaptable structures. Utilization of nanocomposites in buildings and constructions has been promoted since it significantly contributes to reduced carbon emissions, enhanced fire safety, increased energy efficiency, and sustainable building repairs. This chapter highlights critical insights on using carbon-based nanocomposites in concrete structures instead of steel reinforcing underscoring the transformative impact on the design and development of sustainable cities. The work also includes the trajectory for future perspectives, outlining the applications and implications of carbon nanomaterials manufacturing.
