The interest in fibre-reinforced polymers (FRP) as an alternative to traditional steel rebars in reinforced concrete (RC) structures has significantly increased due to their corrosion resistance and high strength-to-weight ratio. This study focuses on the structural performance of concrete slabs reinforced with a novel thermoplastic FRP grid by WEAV3D Inc. The FRP grid comprises thermoplastic tapes impregnated with polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) resin. A simply-supported RC slab was tested under four-point bending to assess the effectiveness of this innovative reinforcement system. This paper details the slab’s behaviour, focusing on cracking behaviour, load capacity, and deflection characteristics. The slab exhibited substantial cracking and deflection before failure, providing adequate warning beforehand. Moreover, no signs of tape slippage were observed, indicating sufficient bond strength provided by the cross tapes.
