Early Infatuations
摘要
Hopkins’s interest in Italian culture, literature, art and political history will be explored, apart from a few exceptions, sequentially, as his writings document it over time. His comments on specific topics will be either investigated up to their latest developments or will only be examined with reference to their appearances in each of the four main stages of his life, in view of larger and more crucial re-emergences that need to be discussed in their subsequent biographical, intellectual and spiritual contexts.
