The work is devoted to solving an important task of the machine-building industry - increasing the efficiency of screw press equipment for the manufacture of fuel briquettes from oil-containing raw materials. It has been established that the current existing equipment of this type needs to be improved in order to improve the quality of the finished product and reduce energy consumption. The analysis has shown that this goal can be achieved by using a screw press extruder in combination with the developed innovative final molding device. The production of fuel briquettes using such a device is carried out by gradual compression of raw materials in several sequentially installed sections with simultaneous oil extraction. To determine the qualitative and quantitative indicators, a series of experiments were conducted under conditions close to industrial ones. Experimental studies have shown that when using the device for final briquette formation and when using the cooling system of the working body, the equipment had stable operation regardless of the ambient temperature. As a result, it was possible to obtain fuel briquettes of improved quality - to increase their density, which increases the duration of combustion. The use of a сompression device makes it possible to obtain an additional product in the production of fuel briquettes - technical oil, thereby increasing the economic efficiency of using this type of equipment.
