A Reformulation: Culture Itself as an Information Source
摘要
We reconsider the basic theory of nonergodic cognition, using the homology between nonergodic information source uncertainty and free energy to re-derive peculiar forms of Onsager’s nonequilibrium thermodynamics that act as ‘regression models’ to characterize the dynamics of cognition in ‘cultural artifacts’. The result is an extension of the formal perspective beyond the Rate Distortion Control Theory of earlier chapters.
