Mandarin cultivation plays a significant role in Montenegro’s agricultural sector, with Unshiu mandarins comprising the majority of citrus production. Despite favorable Mediterranean climatic conditions, yield variability and production challenges persist due to climatic fluctuations, orchard management practices, and disease susceptibility. This study analyzes mandarin production trends from 2007 to 2016, focusing on plantation expansion, yield per hectare, and total production performance. Key factors affecting yield variability are examined, including some pioniring in precision agriculture, optimized fertilization, irrigation advancements, and the selection of disease-resistant varieties. Additionally, the study highlights the role of Industry 4.0 technologies, including predictive analytics and real-time data monitoring, in addressing complex agricultural and climate challenges. By leveraging interdisciplinary knowledge on violence prevention and sustainable development, innovative strategies can enhance intervention efforts and community-driven approaches. Moreover, Montenegro’s agroecological advantages position it as one of key players in fruit production, aligning with sustainable development strategies. To ensure the sector’s long-term sustainability, investments in infrastructure, improved agricultural techniques, and market expansion strategies are necessary. Strengthening research collaborations and integrating advanced technological solutions will enhance productivity and stabilize yields. The findings emphasize the importance of modernizing orchard management and fostering sustainable agricultural growth to position Montenegro’s mandarin production for greater competitiveness in regional and global markets.
