Positive Subjective Experiences of Second Language Learners
摘要
This chapter focuses on the second pillar of positive psychology (PosPsy): positive subjective experiences in second language (L2) learning. It reviews essential concepts related to students’ positive experiences, emphasizing key elements such as positive emotions, enjoyment, flow, resilience, and emotional intelligence. The chapter addresses critical questions: What constitutes positive experiences in L2 learning? How can we effectively measure these experiences? What impacts do they have on L2 learning and teaching? This chapter aims to understand terminology and theories related to positive subjective experiences, explore major measurement tools for these experiences in L2 contexts, and examine the significant effects of positive subjective experiences on L2 education. By the end of the chapter, we will gain insights into how positive experiences contribute to enhancing both the learning process and teaching practices in language education.
