During the past decades, accumulating evidence has consistently demonstrated improvement in overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) after surgical treatment of intracranial gliomas. This is caused by multiple factors, including the introduction of standard adjuvant therapeutic protocols and better understanding of tumor biology; however, aggressive surgical resection has proven to be a main component of treatment success.
