Sustainable development is an inevitable trend for all countries in the world. To concretize the goal of sustainable development, the United Nations set up 17 goals to guide the actions of countries worldwide toward this objective. Vietnam is one of the pioneering countries committed to achieving these goals through the dedication of the Vietnamese Government and the close guidance and supervision of government agencies and industries. Vietnam’s tourism industry was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic but is now making an incredible recovery and significantly contributing to Vietnam’s economic development. With the orientation of economic restructuring, the tourism industry has become a strategic field to promote economic, cultural, and social development in Vietnam. In particular, developing Vietnam’s tourism industry in line with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) has become an essential requirement. Given the human-oriented nature of the industry, businesses in the tourism sector need to focus on sustainable development of human resources to gain a competitive advantage. Green HRM has become an important tool to promote employee well-being, ensuring a robust workforce for businesses in the industry and enhancing service quality to achieve a competitive edge in the tourism industry. In this study, a quantitative research method was used, involving a survey with 573 samples of employees working in hospitality and tourism businesses in Vietnam, to clarify the relationship between Green HRM and employee well-being and green employee behavior. The aim is to provide solutions to improve employee well-being and green employee behavior, thereby enhancing service quality and competitiveness, and promoting the sustainable development of tourism businesses in Vietnam.
