摘要
The need for sustainable development is now more generally acknowledged than it has ever been before owing in great part to the processes of globalization and economic integration. A variety of interrelated measures that address issues with environmental preservation as well as social and economic aspects must be put into place to attain sustainability. Apart from the above-mentioned, it is imperative to facilitate the ongoing advancement of technology grounded in sustainable principles, in addition to the continuous creation and release of environmentally friendly and sustainable financial instruments, to generate capital for the funding of sustainability objectives. All of the previously mentioned demands the participation of numerous parties, including individuals, governments, and the public and private sectors. The achievement of a sustainable future necessitates the efficient establishment, supervision, and accomplishment of sustainable development objectives, the accessibility of eco-friendly funding options, and global collaboration to leverage optimal expertise. Reviewing the measures taken by the Republic of Serbia to attain sustainable development is the goal of this chapter. The strategy for sustainable development aligns with the Republic of Serbia’s goal to increase its competitiveness through innovation, knowledge, and entrepreneurship during the EU accession negotiations.
