Voiding cystourethrography (VCUG) is the gold standard for diagnosing vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). This chapter serves as a practical guide for clinicians performing VCUG for VUR diagnosis. It emphasizes the importance of a standardized approach to maximize diagnostic yield while minimizing patient discomfort and radiation exposure. Given that about one-third of children with urinary tract infections (UTIs) have VUR, not all children with UTIs need VUR imaging. This chapter also explores alternative imaging modalities for VUR detection, including Renal and bladder ultrasonography (US), dimercaptosuccinic acid scan, and contrast-enhanced US. Additionally, the chapter highlights the limitations and considerations for each imaging modality in diagnosing VUR and associated conditions.

摘要
