The Flow of Communication
摘要
The flow of communication connotes the systematic process through which information is transmitted, received and interpreted across various channels and contexts. This chapter explores language and rural-urban gap, focusing on the fundamental models, patterns and dynamics that govern communication flow in inter-personal, organizational and mass communication settings. It examines fundamental elements of communication while also considering barriers that affect the clarity and effectiveness of communication. The chapter highlights different types of communication flow: linear, interactive and transactional, and their relevance in both traditional and digital environments. Special attention is given to vertical and horizontal flows within institutions, the role of gatekeeping in media systems and the influence of technology on real-time, multidirectional communication. The chapter analyses the flow of communication across multiple levels and examines how information moves, transforms and shapes human interaction and decision-making in contemporary society.
