Himalayan tourism has become a key economic force, which has contributed extensively to regional growth. Yet the increased tourism has also exacerbated anthropogenic hazards, which have brought about extreme environmental and socio-cultural problems. The present research delves into the intricate relationship between tourism development, anthropogenic hazards, and measures of mitigation in the Himalayas. Through qualitative examination of secondary data, such as contextual literature and case studies, the study recognizes major environmental effects like deforestation, biodiversity loss, and pollution, as well as socio-cultural disturbances like cultural commodification and local community displacement. The results highlight the necessity for an inclusive mitigation framework that incorporates sustainable tourism practices, policy enforcement, and community-based approaches. Sustainable tourism efforts emphasize environmental footprints minimization, whereas robust policy systems facilitate compliance with regulation and conservation. Further, engaging the local communities in participatory systems enhances resilience and upholds cultural integrity. The study finds, regenerative tourism plays a key role in recovering ecological balance and strengthening the resilience of local communities. By offering a comprehensive insight into tourism-related risks and mitigation measures, this study hopes to guide policymakers, tourism operators, and local communities towards a balanced tourism development strategy in the sensitive Himalayan environment.

摘要
