Once gaps and opportunities are identified, you can benefit from exploring the courses and other training options to improve your skills and job performance that might be available at your institution as well as others. Consider pursuing informal and formal training, including the use of sabbaticals to acquire expertise in new areas and on the job training. Your choice should depend upon the nature and degree of the improvements needed.
