Aesthetic breast surgery is a popular and widely discussed topic in many countries around the world. It encompasses a variety of procedures aimed at enhancing the appearance of the breasts, including augmentation, reduction, lift, and reconstruction. Each of these procedures has its specific techniques, benefits, and potential complications, making it a field of continuous innovation and research. The two main topics in breast aesthetic surgery are the breast augmentation and breast reduction/mastopexy. Breast augmentation is one of the most requested procedures by female patients and involves increasing breast volume. To achieve satisfactory and harmonious results, it is necessary to proceed with a preoperative step that includes the analysis of patient proportions with the corresponding skin marking; the surgical step that involves the preparation of the pocket that will accommodate the implant; and a final step of dressing and postoperative care. Ptosis and hypertrophy, which can be corrected with mastopexy and reduction mammoplasty, respectively, fall into those types of surgeries that are similar. The basic technique involves lifting the mammary gland by repositioning the NAC (nipple–areola complex) with a pedicle that can have different patterns of vascularization: superior, inferior, medial, lateral, or bipedicled. This is done by reducing the excess skin for mastopexy and both skin and glandular parenchyma for reduction mammoplasty, particularly from the supra-areolar, central, and lower quadrants.
