To address these issues, initiatives focus on record digitization, strengthening verification processes, and increasing public awareness about property rights. Blockchain technology presents a groundbreaking solution to these problems. By establishing tamper-proof digital records, it minimizes the likelihood of fraud and ownership disputes. Smart contracts facilitate quicker and more reliable transactions, while better data accessibility reduces bureaucratic hurdles and supports informed decision-making. However, implementing blockchain effectively requires aligning it with existing legal systems and overcoming challenges such as infrastructure gaps and limited digital literacy. This research proposes a private blockchain framework tailored to Indian regulations, clearly defining stakeholder responsibilities and incorporating legal provisions. It also evaluates the system’s performance regarding transparency, immutability and latency. By integrating blockchain with regulatory frameworks, the model aims to deliver a transparent, and efficient land registration system while ensuring compatibility with legal oversight.
