The development of Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems (LAWS) represents a significant technological advancement in military weaponry, moving closer to full autonomy without human intervention. This research examines the global state of LAWS and its ethical challenges, particularly the accountability gap when autonomous systems act without human control. The lack of a moral framework for machines complicates traditional legal norms, raising concerns about dehumanization in warfare and unanticipated escalation. It also explores how the rapid advancement of autonomous weaponry could outpace international regulations, creating a dangerous precedent.
