The study is based on the planning, implementation, and analysis of ABNT NBR IEC 62353:2019. To enhance operational safety, it sets standards for periodic and post-repair testing on electromedical devices. The study was conducted in a large hospital in Curitiba, PR, Brazil, between January and March 2024, performing 131 tests on 118 equipment. A set of 12 devices (10.1%) had failures related to grounding resistance, which, if left unidentified, could pose risks to patients and professionals. The average time to perform tests was approximately 5 min. This study highlights the importance of the procedures established by the standard for recurrent tests and test after repair safety in electromedical equipment.

摘要
