This chapter speaks of the various recommendations that have been put forward by: community members, NGOs, policy developers, and project administrators while managing various projects that have been funded by either a loan or grant. The chapter also speaks of the role various stakeholders play with regard to building the capacity of the community. Some policies that were explored include: Capacity Building and Education Grants, Low-Interest or Zero-Interest Loans for Vulnerable Communities, Emergency Relief Grants for Natural Disasters, and Loan Forgiveness and Incentives for Sustainable Development Projects. Creating a policy is essential for handling some of the issues related to grants and loans. This means that to assist all communities in organizing, overseeing, and carrying out the loans or grants, explicit policies and operational guidelines must be established. The long-term effect is that communities need to be equipped with the knowledge to develop and recognize the resources they possess. Additionally, communities need to be aware that they can support loan applications through cost sharing in grant applications. When these resources are found and utilized, they can also aid in making the community more resource-efficient. If these suggestions are followed, communities will benefit from loans or grants that have been put in place to help them accomplish their aims and objectives for the community, making them more resilient and ultimately more sustainable.
