The cyber-digital revolution is becoming not only a technological but also a socio-cultural event that affects all aspects of life and development of modern society. It opens up new opportunities and at the same time poses new challenges that require rapid adaptation and the formation of new approaches to management and development at both national and international levels. Higher education institutions are at the epicentre of these digital transformations. Modern digital technologies not only expand access to knowledge, but also create new approaches to education, facilitating interactivity, personalisation and adaptability of the learning process. However, the academic community, both in Ukraine and around the world, faces another serious threat: cyberattacks on critical university infrastructures. According to the authors, there is a need to develop an information security policy for higher education institutions to ensure the protection of information resources. The implementation of such a policy can partially solve the problem of cybersecurity at universities. Such an approach creates a unified security system that operates at all levels of the educational process, protecting data and systems while fostering a culture of responsible use of information technology among all students. Engaging professional cybersecurity services will help universities to respond effectively to modern threats and ensure that their digital resources are adequately protected. Strengthening the security of higher education is a prerequisite for ensuring its competitiveness in the international arena, as well as for protecting information resources and maintaining the stability of the educational process in the face of growing cyber threats.
