Biometry. Calculating the Human Eye
摘要
With invention and implantation of the first intraocular lens by Harold Ridley in 1949, the question arose as to how the refractive power of the artificial lens could be determined. Ridley initially tried to mimic the dimensions of the human crystalline lens, but that proved to be the wrong approach. This chapter will provide a short overview of the historical development of biometry of the human eye and the formulas used for IOL calculation.
