Berger. A Tiny Space with Big Implications

The detailed knowledge of the anatomy of the space behind the lens of the eye and the identification of “Berger´s space” by optical coherence tomography are essential requirements for a successful posterior laser-assisted capsulotomy. Even today, the term “Berger´s space” and its importance are not well known to many ophthalmologists, nor is its name-giver, Austrian ophthalmologist Emil Berger.
