Joseph Jastrow (1863–1944) was a Polish-American psychologist, noted for innovations in experimental psychology and psychophysics. Additionally, he studied the phenomena of optical illusion. A number of these well-known perceptual illusions (e.g., the “Jastrow Illusion”) were either discovered or popularized by his work.
