Some cases of tinnitus may be related to a problem in temporomandibular joint. In a patient with tinnitus who also has problems with the mouth and/or jaw—such as poor dentition, bruxism, or already diagnosed temporomandibular joint dysfunction—consultation with a dentist or maxillofacial surgeon is reasonable.
