Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematologic malignancy consisting of pathological proliferation of monoclonal plasma cells in bone marrow. Rare case reports document MM patients with audiologic or vestibular symptoms. In some of these cases, a plasmacytoma involving the skull base happens to impinge on the vestibulocochlear nerve or cerebellum, and the presumed mechanism of disease is dysfunction secondary to compression from mass effect.
