Telemedicine/telehealth has been part of medical practice for at least as long as physicians and patients have communicated by telephone, but these terms took on new meaning during the COVID-19 pandemic, when real-time tele-video communication became widely practiced in the United States. Practicing medicine remotely is a tool that is applicable in some situations and not in others. Telemedicine has not been practiced widely in otoneurology, but existing technologies would make this possible, and especially relevant for a subspecialty whose practitioners are few yet the demand for care is broad.
