Wilson’s disease, also called hepatolenticular degeneration, is a genetic disease in which copper accumulates in the liver, brain, and other organ systems. The liver problems may manifest with jaundice. The neurological manifestations may include movement disorders. Workup generally includes blood and urine tests, brain imaging, a liver biopsy, and genetic testing. Treatment includes chelating agents and sometimes other medications.
