See-saw nystagmus (SSN) is a disorder in which the eyes move in a “see-saw”-like pattern. Most cases begin in adulthood, though some appear in infancy. The underlying cause of SSN is unknown, though many patients are found to have limited vision. A patient with SSN usually gets a brain MRI and consults with an ophthalmologist or neuro-ophthalmologist.
