The intermezzo between the two parts of the volume consists of an interview with Ryan K. Balot. This constitutes the fifth chapter of the volume and here the editors pose questions to him along two main lines: on the one hand with a view to the pertinence of researching the ancient political world and its ideas, in the world of today. Can we learn something? Why is it still important? The second line of questions relates to Balot’s recently published volume on Plato‘s Laws: Tragedy, Philosophy, and Political Education in Plato’s Laws (2024).
