The Issue of Designing Flexible Production Process and Its Control System as Applied to the Machine-Building Technology Park

Based on the analysis of flexible production systems (FPS) and their control systems as applied to technology parks of mechanical engineering and instrument making, the complexity of such enterprises and the need for designing an automated control system for sites based on programmable logic controllers (PLC) was substantiated. The task was set to design a control system for production sites of FPS, information retrieval and selection of PLCs in accordance with the specifics of the production under study, technological equipment, industrial robots, manipulators and other technical units, as well as their measuring, actuating, adjustable and controlled means. Taking into account the specifics of the research object, the FPS system for the machine-building technology park, consisting of several robotic modules and production areas, an automation scheme with PLC connection for all production areas is proposed. For clarity and accuracy in describing the functions of information communication between PLCi and technical units of FPS sections, the structure of a frame model was used. A diagram of a frame model of management of the production site of the FPS has been constructed using subsystems of automated regulation, control, information and executive support and management of the entire production process. A detailed analysis of the choice of the number and types of PLCs is given using the example of cutting work pieces and a diagram of their connection to the automated circuit of this section is constructed. For a comprehensive description of information support, a relational database of the FPS section, its modules and active elements, presented in the form of tables, was built.
