In order to demonstrate how Human Minimum principle can be used as basis for humanhuman rights, this chapter critically examines and discusses some of Ubuntu’s core beliefs. This chapter explains Ubuntu and highlights its key fundamental ideals, which prioritize people in connection to the Oruka concept of the Human Minimum. Traditional African civilizations have a moral philosophy known as Ubuntu. A conceptual study of Ubuntu is first offered in order to frame the chapter. This analysis helps readers comprehend the idea in a way that will help them appreciate the moral philosophy that united traditional African communities. The objective of reviewing the concept of Ubuntu is to advance understanding of the Human Minimum as envisioned by Odera Oruka in the pursuit of offering a workable answer to Oruka’s ethical theory. Later, it is proposed to combine Human Minimum with Ubuntu in the hopes of forging a unified front against social problems like inequality that obstruct the application of Oruka’s ethical philosophy.
