This chapter extends Chap. 2 by dealing with systems of two coupled linear ordinary differential equations and providing a complete review of its explicit solutions. For time-dependent equations, a detailed presentation of phase diagrams and a complete bifurcation analysis is available. Several examples of both non-optimizing and optimizing models, in both spatial and intertemporal domains, are included as applications.
