The previous two chapters dealt with the simplest optimal control of ordinary differential equations problems. In this chapter, we present extensions, and applications, to singular problems (having a lack of curvature in the objective functional), to problems with static constraints in the state and control variables, two-stage optimal control problems, optimal control of piecewise smooth and constant differential equation, and optimal control with two state variables.
