This chapter deals with a controversial and very topical subject, which is the theorization of the management of “altered states of consciousness” as a possible device for achieving the processes of deterritorialization and singularization in the field of schizoanalytic clinical practice. It begins with a theoretical discussion of consciousness in schizoanalysis. Then, it articulates our clinical experience with experiments in altered consciousness, in order to discuss its functioning and its modes of “transition.” It also makes a connection with the studies on holotropic breathing in transpersonal psychology by Stanislav and Christina Grof, obviously privileging and handling schizoanalytic conceptions. We propose a cartography of the different consciential modes (CM) and their operationalization in the klinic of chaos–chaosmos–disorder, created by Baremblitt.
