Harnessing Nature-Based Solutions in Urban Areas: A Case Study
摘要
As climate change intensifies, with more frequent and severe flood events driven by cloudbursts, rising temperatures, and prolonged droughts, urban areas face escalating challenges in safeguarding population wellbeing. Amid rapid urban development, political uncertainty, and socioeconomic pressures, the pursuit of sustainable solutions to enhance urban resilience has become increasingly urgent. This article examines the limitations of traditional drainage systems and emphasizes the potential of integrating nature-based solutions (NbS) for flood mitigation. It explores how these sustainable strategies can effectively address extreme weather challenges while simultaneously restoring natural environments and promoting resilience in urban settings.
