This study investigates the coastal erosion risks in Saidia city, Northeast Morocco, by analyzing various climatic and marine factors affecting the region. A comprehensive approach is employed to understand and monitor the evolution of the coastline over the time period from 1979 to 2022. The research utilizes a combination of aerial photographs, satellite images and field surveys conducted from 1979 to 2022, processed using QGIS, google earth engine for imagery processing and geospatial analysis. The results indicate significant erosion at the mouth of the Moulouya river, with rates exceeding −4 m/year, while certain areas near the Saidia Mediterrania resort show accretion rates of 2.6 m/year. The study highlights the effectiveness of Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS measurements in monitoring coastal changes and underscores the need for integrated coastal management practices. To mitigate erosion, nature-based solutions such as dune and vegetation restoration are recommended. The study emphasizes the importance of continuous environmental monitoring and community involvement in developing sustainable coastal protection strategies.

摘要
