Moreover, YouTube is used as a significant tool in language learning and helps students improve their speaking and listening skills. Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is widely used in language teaching and aims to improve communication skills. This study aims to examine the vocabulary used in the videos broadcasted on BBC Learning English Channel within the scope of CEFR and to evaluate the audience comments. The data of the research consists of 2251 videos with subtitles broadcast on BBC Learn English Channel between 08.04.2014 and 30.05.2024 and 50759 comments. The data went through preprocessing steps such as converting letters to lower case, removing punctuation marks, removing stop words, and obtaining basic word forms with the Snowball Stemmer method. Bigrams and trigrams are created based on viewer comments, and then 10 topics and 10 sub-words are identified through Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) analysis. The most frequently used 500 words from the video subtitles are extracted using an application developed with the Python programming language and are classified according to CEFR levels. When the audience comments are analyzed by the LDA Topic analysis method, it is detected that they help facilitate language learning, are entertaining, and are useful in terms of enhancing vocabulary. In addition, the quiz sections are liked, and the videos are effective with regard to comprehension. For the most part, the videos have positive effects on language learning, and the audience is satisfied.
