Nutritional integrity is the maintenance of a balanced and adequate intake of essential nutrients to support overall health, growth, and disease prevention thus having direct impacts on muscle performance, bone density, and recovery from injury. This chapter covers the key components of macronutrients and micronutrients and how they facilitate muscle synthesis, bone remodelling, and inflammation modulation. It also shed light on novel issues in relation to food safety especially contamination, degradation of nutrients, adulteration and how they increase risks of osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and inflammation-based diseases thus negatively impacting nutritional efficiency of musculoskeletal outcomes. This chapter offers scientifically substantiated perspectives related to diet tactics, supplementation, and safe foods in promoting maximal musculoskeletal health across diverse populations. It goes into mechanisms through which diets impact muscle mass, bone density, and injury repair and ways to prevent nutritional deficits that help to facilitate tissue repair. Practical dietary guidance is presented that will help fortify the musculoskeletal system in protecting against injuries, degeneration, and senility.
