Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and drones in various civil applications are becoming more prevalent, especially in smart cities integrated into the overall transportation system. This research paper outlines a proposed operational approach for utilizing drones in urban areas, which includes the design of airspace, construction of recommended airways, and critical safety considerations. Firstly, a highly automated management system is necessary to manage and control drone operations effectively. This system would involve centralized observation and supervision, allowing for fully autonomous drone flights utilizing the Global Positioning System (GPS) and dynamic identification systems incorporated into the infrastructure. These systems would be described within a Geographic Information System (GIS) context. Secondly, selecting appropriate paths for drone flights would be based on identifying expected and predetermined trajectories and their autonomous deployment. This approach ensures that drones can navigate urban areas safely and efficiently.

摘要
