This chapter outlines the case for consultancy in health psychology. Although a relatively young profession, health psychology consultancy makes a positive impact on health at scale, utilising theory and evidence and scientific methodology to address problems in health. The potential benefits of health psychology consultancy for clients and for health psychologists themselves are significant, yet some health psychologists feel unprepared to embark on this area of practice. The authors asked several experienced health psychologists to answer three questions: (1) What kinds of problems and challenges in health (and other domains) could health psychologists help with through consultancy? (2) What do you think are the benefits to health psychology as a profession from engaging in consultancy? (3) What, in your opinion, are the barriers to (more) health psychologists engaging in consultancy? Their responses are presented verbatim, and the authors present their reflections on implications for practice in light of those responses, the contributions to the handbook and the authors’ own consultancy experience.

摘要
