We present a project completed at the request of a health psychologist in a health communications agency working on behalf of a Clinical Commissioning Group in England. The agency produced behaviour change theory-informed creative marketing campaigns for the United Kingdom National Health Service. The client’s aim was to increase their understanding regarding the use of, and attitudes and beliefs about, antibiotics and antibiotic resistance for under-served groups within an inner-city area. This information would inform tailoring of regional public health campaigns for communities with the highest antibiotic prescribing rates. The nature of the consultancy centred on providing expertise in qualitative research and required advice regarding previously collected data and analysis options. In this chapter, we describe the consultancy project and focus on the process of enquiry, situating this within key literature on consultancy. We conclude with a reflective section, discussing the most striking elements of our consultancy project analysis, viewing our experience through other perspectives, and examining contextual factors and their potential impact on the consultancy project.

摘要
