In this theoretical piece, the researcher wants to pick up on a recent study of theirs (see Javaid, The Melancholic of Queer solitude: Unfathomable quests, dark desires, and unapologetic inhibitions, unpublished) to apply the feminist killjoy to other worldly surroundings. A feminist killjoy contests authority and claims ownership of their own body through the calling out of problems, even if this means that one becomes a problem by doing so. In that study, the researcher discusses the feminist killjoy as contributing to wider queer debates and conversations and contributing to practical reformations whereby theorizing power and queer relations in places can alter and challenge norms and places while being able to navigate in and through them. This present piece provides no exception in terms of queer contributions. Given the foci on queer love, contributions of the present piece include adding to debates about queer love and love more generally as well as offering a “tool kit” for queers about dealing with love in their practical day-to-day queer life. The focus is on connecting the feminist killjoy and symbolic violence as being unleashed onto queer bodies as ways of dismantling queer love through the normalization process of becoming a queer feminist killjoy.
