This chapter focuses on the more critical and urgent field of population heat risk. Based on the disaster-exposure-vulnerability framework, this chapter provides a heat risk assessment framework that characterizes vulnerability through heat storage capacity. This framework provides a detailed assessment of the risk change trends in the Xi’an metropolitan area from 2000 to 2020 at a 100 m grid scale and explores the relationship between local climate zone (LCZ) types and heat risk. This heat risk assessment framework is universal and can provide a basis for other cities worldwide to mitigate heat risk.

摘要

This chapter focuses on the more critical and urgent field of population heat risk. Based on the disaster-exposure-vulnerability framework, this chapter provides a heat risk assessment framework that characterizes vulnerability through heat storage capacity. This framework provides a detailed assessment of the risk change trends in the Xi’an metropolitan area from 2000 to 2020 at a 100 m grid scale and explores the relationship between local climate zone (LCZ) types and heat risk. This heat risk assessment framework is universal and can provide a basis for other cities worldwide to mitigate heat risk.
